The only clue I have to the identity of Zenith‘s builder is what I assume to be a small builder’s plaque screwed into a supporting beam at the rear of the cockpit.
As you can see most of the plaque is missing and there’s no builder’s name to see but I am able measure the dimensions of the plaque as the outline is still visible. The dimension are 60m by 28mm, and I believe the material to be aluminium.
It would be appreciated to hear from owners of Swedish Sailing Canoes or small boats built between 1915 and 1931 that have a builder’s plaque fitted as we may be able to match the dimensions to the remains and outline of Zenith’s plaque and use this as a way of identifying the builder.
